The advocacy program is also responsible for violence awareness and prevention education on campus. We work with the Student Violence Prevention Committee to create engaging programs on campus about consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and more.

Student Violence Prevention Committee
Mission Statement
The VCU committee for violence prevention focuses on promoting primary and secondary violence prevention strategies. Through research and education, we can address situations of gender violence that happen on campus and how to change current policies.
Goals
Our goal is to implement change within our campus by understanding what causes gender violence at VCU. We do this by analyzing our campus social norms and adjusting current policies present at VCU related to gender violence norms. By analyzing these norms and policies, we can come up with a plan that can effectively reach the VCU community
How to get involved
The Student Violence Prevention Committee will be recruiting for Fall 2021; stay tuned for more updates!
